Rent and Utility Assistance
BCM's financial assistance program is dedicated to forestalling eviction
and utility shut-offs by providing one-time financial assistance to individuals
and families experiencing a crisis such as an illness, death in the family or
job loss. BCM will pay a portion of a rent, mortgage or utility bill in order
to keep people in a stable, secure environment.
C. Spencer Godfrey Food Pantry
BCM provides non-perishable foods, meat, and other household supplies for a one-week period. The food pantry also provides homeless individuals with daily snack bags and weekly hygiene kits through our Homeless Ministry. The pantry is stocked through individual donations and voluntary food drives sponsored by local churches, businesses and civic groups. Additional items are purchased through our partnership with Kroger on Piedmont Road.
New Worker Support
BCM helps newly hired workers re-enter the workforce by purchasing required uniforms and equipment, and providing transportation until the client receives the first paycheck. Those looking for a job may use BCM computers to prepare resumes and access the Internet for the purpose of online job searches and applications. In certain circumstances, BCM may be able to provide homeless individuals who have re-entered the workforce with limited residential hotel stays.
Clothing
Buckhead THRIFTique is a boutique-style thrift store that offers free clothing to people in need, as well as offering affordable clothing and household items for sale to the general public. All profits from sales are used to support BCM programs.
Seasonal Programs
In addition to meeting immediate needs, BCM provides its clients with comfort and joy through the following seasonal programs: Joyous Toys, Easter Baskets, School Supplies and Holiday Food Baskets.
