If you need help with food or clothing, you can come by the office without making an appointment. Please bring the following documents:
- a copy of your apartment lease,
- your most recent rent receipt,
- your picture ID,
- a picture ID of any other adults living with you,
- Social Security Cards for everyone who lives with you
NEW WORKER SUPPORT
If you are beginning a new job, but you need help with items such as transportation, a uniform, and certain tools, BCM may be able to help. Please come to our office during service hours with the following documents:
- a copy of your apartment lease,
- your most recent rent receipt,
- your picture ID,
- a picture ID of any other adults living with you,
- Social Security Cards for everyone who lives with you
- a letter from your employer stating your start date, the date of your first pay check and any items you are reguired to have on your first day of work
RENT & UTILITY ASSISTANCE
If you need help with a portion of your rent, mortgage or utility bills due to a crisis such as illness, job lay off, divorce, etc, please call the Helpline at 404.239.0038 in order to make an appointment. In order to receive assistance you will need to show certain documents that will be explained to you when you make the appointment.
You must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for an appointment:
- live in one of the zip codes we serve
- have paid rent or mortgage for at least 3 months
- have held a job within the past 6 months or be unable to work due to age or disability
- if you need help with utilities, your rent must be paid in full
PLEASE NOTE: You must make an appointment over the phone in order to receive financial assistance.
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING
BCM has a Transitional Housing Program for eligible families who are homeless. The program provides families with temporary apartment homes, and requires participants to take classes in budgeting, parenting skills, and other life-skills. If you think you might be eligible for the this program, call BCM's Help Line at 404-239-0038 during normal business hours.
THE 70/30 PROJECT
If you have an appointment for rent or utility assistance and would like to be considered for The 70/30 Project, please tell your intake interviewer.
The 70/30 Project provides four months of rent and utility payments, counseling, and money management education to working parents who need more than the one month of assistance typically provided by BCM.
HMIS NOTICE TO CLIENTS
THIS AGENCY PARTICIPATES IN THE HOMELESS MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (HMIS) YOU MAY NOT BE DENIED SERVICES IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO GIVE INFORMATION FOR HMIS. We are required to collect some personal information from you - with your signed authorization - to receive funding for the services we provide. Other personal information that we collect is important to: continue to get funding for homeless services; get more funding for services for homeless persons; make it easier for homeless persons to get services; make services for homeless persons better; understand the needs of homeless persons better. Please ask us about how we keep you information confidential.
Directions to the BCM Office
BCM is located at 2847 Piedmont Road between Pharr Road and Sydney Marcus Boulevard. This is the intersection of East Wesley and Piedmont. Look for a stone wall at the bottom of our drive. If you are using MARTA, take the #5 bus north from the Lindbergh Station.
